I think it's the first time I read about an ML who lowered his social status to be with the FL.
Usually it's the other way around: the ML elevates FL social status
.... chapter 82 felt like that was the ending the author was originally going for, but didn't have much of an idea on how to get there.
Hence, the poor execution of the story
I REALLY love broad muscled backs
ლ(´ڡ`ლ)
Also, I'm curious: when people lay down sideways against someone else like that.... how is their other hand positioned?
Under the other person's back?
Squished under his own body?
Disappearing into the bed?
Is it just me or baby never repeats the same costume twice?
Also, I REALLY got worried for the chicken there. Didn't expect I'll be so found of it as a pet for d 2nd time
(d first was for that derpy chicken in Moana)
SO! The world set up is like this:
- masters of earth left on a long LONG journey
- in the meantime, humans populated the earth
- when they came back, humans treated them as aliens
- war was waged 'coz humans didn't want to let go of their current sovereignty over earth (from new inhabitants' pov)
- i don't know what HAEK stand for, but probably something nuclear
- however, that proved useless against the 'Master' & humanity lost
- humanity became extinct
- earth became relatively and largely inhospitable to humans
(we don't know yet w/c came first, instinction or earth terra, flaura and fauna changing
and if this was a side effect of the war or a deliberate change by the Master - perhaps both)
- one of the vassals of the Master has since created a sanctuary for human children, perhaps in an effort to prevent total extinction
The imagery, strength, and authority held by the Master and his Seven 'Fingers' are curiously similar to the concept of God and the archangels -> alluding them to be the very same one in the sacred scriptures
Disclaimer
Yes, I know this is obvious to any reader of this gem.
This is just for me, to process what I read and remind me of the setting of this story.
Please don't be offended by the religious alluding, it's quite a common thing in fiction and doesn't really mean any disrespect
Actually it's more so my curiousity on what happened in the past and what he wants to happen now is KILLING ME
(and I can't resort to spoilers 'coz no prior novel for this and I don't know how further the raws have gone nor do i have access to even surmise about it)
I don't mind the pacing really and I can kinda see why we're being shown it in this way....
But it doesn't make being left in the dark for so long any less unbearable
ヽ(`Д´)ノ
I paused reading this for a while 'coz I started this mainly for the romance so I wasn't particularly enjoying the relatively long capitalist segments.
How is it now?
Has the main plot moved on considerably or is it still mainly focused on the side quests necessary for her to achieve her goal?
Disclaimer:
Mind u, I'm not saying this manwha is bad.
It's just a matter of preference.
So.... this isn't where the novel ended right?
I remeber reading a really detailed novel spoiler about Lydia's biological background that caused some.... strife(?) between Lydia & co. And the royals of a neighbouring country
σ(^_^;)?
- Claude is Cee and the *new* pope and has some sort of deal with the dragon.... they're hatching a plan to correct the wrongs of the current monarchy
- Roose will be part of some sort of sacrifice to give the fake saint powers and the Mage may be indirectly or directly involved in this scheme
- there's something special about the red brooch of the prince. It might be playing with his mind, part of some ritual to give them power, or is taking something away from him
age difference aside..... them getting engaged feels so WRONG somehow (unless it's only to protect and won't lead to ACTUAL marriage)
Like.... there's something about their dynamics that screams they'll be much better off as siblings rather than something romantic...
I hope he suffers (romantically)
I hope, at some point, he despairs at the fact that MC doesn't feel the same as him (aka, he falls in love first)
*sry, i hate his archetype, but would also love to see him go thru chara dev to be less of an entitled asshole
OOOoooohhhh
I just knew that useless contract is gonna bite her in the ass
((ヾ(≧皿≦メ)ノ))
(╯°Д °)╯╧╧
Given that brief flashback..... he was raped wasn't he?
That's why he doesn't like women, and doesn't want to associate with MC & Noah as they are triggers for his trauma.....
At least he didn't physical abuse the child and provided for his basic needs (somewhat) unlike in some stories....
Though I know that doesn't entirely excuse his neglect, it does make it understandable to an extent
THEY'RE SO FUCKING ADORABLE
Ho and Kwon's interactions ARE SO HEALING
Also, THE BABY IS SO CUTE I WANNA HUG HER TIGHT AND PINCH HER CHEEKS
betcha her naming moment will be monumental with an beautiful name that has a deep, symbolic, and wonderful meaning
I really REALLY like his emotional maturity.
His self-awareness and tacit acceptance that he may never be able to reach Soohyun's level, but it doesn't stop him to try, regardless.
How he didn't let his envy consume him and wholeheartedly chose to stay by Soohyun's side to support him however he can
Which in turn, lead to him being able to develop and showcase a crucial talent that can serve as the key to not repeating the past: management. Be it human or other resources.
It's been repeatedly shown to us that the key to changing the future is having a united front among ALL hunters.
Soohyun CAN definitely be the leader. Spark in them the desire to be better, to work for the greater good.
But as the mightiest of them all, he cannot focus on managing or rallying everyone. Because he has to be at the forefront of the fight and focus on defeating the hardest foes and the biggest boss fight there ever will be.
That's where Jooho comes in.
He can make sure Soohyun isn't fighting all on his own like in the previous timeline.
He'll be the one making sure that everything is working behind the scenes and that the smaller fights are handled so that Soohyun can focus his energy on the bigger fights.
I absolutely LOVE this kinds of characterizations: non-uber powerful supporting characters can bear the same weight and importance to the story as the hero.
I know other action manwha's have this secretary trope that fulfills Jooho's role. But often, they aren't given deeper characterizations like with Jooho and are portrayed as this uptight smart dude wearing glasses with blind devotion to the leader and is often relegated to behind the scenes, rarely at forefront or focus.
But, for me, that's not really the case for Joohoo.
He's always ever present; Soohyun's partner in crime; making and developing plans with him instead of just following orders (in other stories, this role would have been buster sword kid's)
For me, the MC is the least at fault for this entire situation :)))
If ML has a spine, he should eventually man up (after he got over the embarrassment), visit her and beg for her forgiveness and a second (well, third) chance to make their engagement right!!!!
Also, I hope Lex gets karma or something :)))))
That dude's having WAY too much at other's expense :))))
