Sorry guys, but step sibling, fake sibling romances just never sat right with me. Its not a matter of taste or preference, but rather the circumstances around relationships like that are just strange. For example , if two adults had their parents remarried and became step siblings, then fell in love, I have no problem with that, because they don't have a prior sibling relationship and are both two consenting adults and have their own life experiences.

However, in cases like this, the ML literally raised the MC as a baby, treated her as a sister, has a sibling relationship with her, and establishes that they are family through his actions.That's why it feels weird for me personally to think that they will develop romantic relationships with each other. Same with Beware of the Brothers. The ML in both situations had the role of the brother in the MC's life which is why people feel icky when they do develop feelings for each other, regardless of their blood relation.

This is not a critique on the manga or the author, but just a general observation of cliches like this. Yes, people have their preferences and I understand that. It just doesn't feel morally right to me, especially when the 'brothers' are usually in a position of power and authority, and the fate of the MC depends on their whims. The MC has also never had any interactions with other males around her and never developed meaningful relationships with other males, most likely due to her brother's possessiveness. Thus, she doesn't have any wordly experience to really understand whether or not she loves her brother romantically or its just sibling love.

Anyway, sorry for the long rant. I hope people are as understanding of other's uncomfortableness with this trope as much as they themselves hope other people will respect their own preferences.

What's with authors thinking that rape is sexy or cute as a personality trait for their ML's?? That was the most fucking uncomfortable I've ever been reading a sex scene.
