Okay so I made a comment the other day about how I understood why Khalid might have done what he did, didn’t realise I was spot on lmao.
The comments are all people like “omg im dropping this” but in all honesty it was pretty obvious the way it was gonna go.
Insos law: the MLs are never truly evil even if they’re tyrants. That’s just how it is.
You guys are salty that you aren’t getting a revenge story? Sucks to be you then, because this story uniquely portrays a main character who will actually face up to the harsh reality that things weren’t what they thought. Most of the time we are led to believe that the main character is always right, but not this time bitches. And I appreciate that. I’m going to keep reading, and I hope her character stays consistent with how reflective she is being. I hope she becomes collected, calm, rational and thoughtful, rather than zealously patriotic.
So y’all haters can suck it because life ain’t that simple that its just black and white.

This is a fact and is applicable to real life and all religions and beliefs.

The thing is, most of these people are either psychos or idiots. They will act like complete lunatics and have no regard for other human being for most of their lives, but when they get called out on it they will say some dumb shit like: "I'm not a bad person! I'll have you know I go to church! You're going to hell!"
And thats just the christians. Leaving terrorists and islam aside, the use of faith to control people, in particular women, is consistent in so many major religions. I think buddhism is still the most peaceful. But even then, you're not automatically good if you're a buddhist. Not that they believe in good and evil anyway but still.
Christians are still the most annoying hands down.

I’ve also seen non religious people who claim to be so just and right for not having any religion, but then they’re prejudiced towards religious people, LGBT people, POC, just people in general. Looking down on them. They’re no better than religious people who try to justify their horrid actions using God. I think this comment goes both ways, just because you’re not religious, doesn’t mean you’re a good person either.

Dang but I kind of get it. If your commander will never surrender a losing battle, and it will mean losing many more lives, then sacrificing one life to save the many might not be wrong.
We don’t know enough about the war yet, it sounds to me like her country was putting up a valiant effort but she was the one pushing it.
This Khalid was probably just psycho enough to take the brunt of being the traitor and kill his best friend.
I’m not saying I like him, but the situation is believable.
Lowkey the fiance is growing on me. I also like the FL, her character is way more believable than the other story that was like this. She’s not OP immediately by a fluke, she’s got proper trauma, she’s still kind of a badass, and she’s able to assess herself.
So far I’m really enjoying this.

But since the war ended the day she was killed, we can safely say she was the one leading the retaliation. By her orders the soldiers were fighting, the foot soldiers have no say, they have to listen to their commanders no matter what. Her knight friends on the other hand are obviously loyal to her and their country, I would believe they are almost more upset about her dying than their surrender. I reckon they’re trying to avenge her more than anything.
And this woman was hella patriotic, it wouldn’t surprise me if she was more focused on victory than anything else. Which isn’t necessarily a good thing.
Obviously this is just a story, but given the information we have on the war and how humans might react to things like this realistically , I would speculate this much. Rather I’m more surprised that Khalid wasn’t killed by the other king. You can’t trust anyone who killed their friend, so why give them a whole ass title? It’s not like they owed him.

The special power thing, but at the same time...
Doesn’t that mean they’re related then?????? Yo wtf

this contains spoilers

She's related to a marquis of neighboring kingdom... MC's grandma got married into the royal family (ML's fam) while being pregnant to MCs father and MC's grandma drank the water from the lake in the royal palace in a ceremony which grants them to have special abilities, since MC has their blood, she also gets to inherit the powers from the lake hence her powers... MC's grandmother got kicked out of the palace when ppl found out that her son (MCs father) is not the child of the king, but is the child of a marquis of a neighboring kingdom, so when they got chased out of the palace they went to the marquis and MCs grandma got married to the Marquis... both MC and ML are related to the judge but MC and ML are not related at all.
I’m legitimately concerned for the mental well-being of the members in this chat. Please remember to come back to reality from time to time.
Love and care from your friendly neighborhood chatperson.
EDIT: The person who downvoted this is in denial lmao
