At first I thought that maybe Simon left Dark Heaven (the indie band group) to chase popularity and stuffs. But it turned out that Conor (the long haired dude) was attacked by a group of homophobic/racist people who had fractured both his hands. It's foreshadowed that Conor had quit the band because he couldn't play the guitar after that incident (not sure what happened as its not fully told yet). Currently Conor is working as a column writer at a place called The Magazine and is going out with the Editor's daughter (who turned out to be one of his fans during his guitarist day). Poor poor Simon had signed up a contract with an agency, and his clause had made it possible for them to exploit him with sexual favours. Both men are still quite in love with each other.... And up until chapter 8 we still don't know what happened that lead to their break up (?), as they seemed to be such close friends and partner since the very beginning.
I felt really sad for both of them.... Especially Conor because it feels like he lost his will after that incident. And Simon is just missing Conor every damn day that he starts to write Conor's name in his books .... *sobs* Not to mention Simon being all crazy asking people to wear long black wig while they have sex.
