Hahahaha, because Sebastian thought that Odette wouldn't be happy if she's with him, so he thought of proceeding with the divorce. And also, he's still not fully aware of his feelings towards Odette. But we don't have to worry, he'll only become more possesive as time passes by. I'm glad that the flow of the story changed from what originally happened in the novel.
