In Sabelians case, while he knows that blanche was being abused by the evil stepmom that still didn’t go unnoticed by him whenever he have the time he monitors his child it’s just that he was so devoid of emotion that the only contact he had to a girl/woman was when he was sexually assaulted when he was a child,that’s why he didn’t know how to act around his own daughter who was the very own product of how his previous wife had raped and robbed of his innocence
