I don't think it's about torturing Sehyun, it's more about happy endings don't really exist. Even after you get out, abuse cuts deep and there are still piece of shit human beings out there. Plus, this neighborhood hasn't really been shown to be the most wholesome kind of place so, you know.
I think the author is just taking a bit more realistic approach to show the after effects of abuse and what it leaves behind.

but i promise you he's gonna get so overprotective to ian to the point that he spoils him gifts and kneeling while begging him not to go.

Like my third time seeing this ch but every time I feel so much for Seth... I don't particularly hate Osiris either but he is hella wrong for this. The whole family did Seth wrong
