I love that Penelope is not your typical lovable MC. I struggle to see why people are mad and suggesting that the storyline is endorsing her behaviour. Never once it was said that she's a girl who can do no wrong. She's purposefully depicted as harsher and more manipulative by each passing chapter to highlight how fear can change even the purest heart. That's not something you see in many manhwa (I can list so many of them where the MC wrongs others and never faces consequences. Penelope does. The consequences being : losing with Eclis and potentially losing the whole game)
Who thought I'd be crying ugly tears over this manhwa. I feel so much empathy towards Doc Dan. Losing the only person who ever loved you unconditionally is tough. We'll all have to go through that struggle at some point in our lives... I hope he'll find some peace knowing she won't suffer anymore.
The side story is awful, I don't recognize the characters at all. She's so mean and toxic. :(

I feel like the "Placebo effect" refers to his feelings toward Woo-jin rather than towards the hypnosis in itself. Earlier in the season I remember Woo-yeon telling Woo-jin to stop doing what he was doing because people where behind the door. It shows that his mind is capable of resistance during hypnosis if he truly doesn't wanna do it. It's messed up but we know the author IS messed up, just like her characters. I will still hope for an ending where Woo-yeon is free from his weird ass brother.
