Does korean even have gender when talking about other people? I think i remember reading a translator's note that they use something like "them" in english, so technically we shouldn't be able to know mori's gender. And like, i feel like it should be this way, bc after all, they're just a child and all those markers are needless

no, they use gender neutral term so many translators tend to get it wrong, specially if its mtl.
