Did the announcement appear in the official announcement section? If it was only posted in the comment section, then it's still unofficial, in my opinion. The production house or team will likely put the project on hold and start searching for a new artist. If it's final, they will release an official announcement through the proper announcement feature (I seriously don't know what I should call it lol)
