for anyone who were wondering:
no, maetel didn't know that the child is his. remember during the night when they sleep together? louis were drugged by rafael so he doesn't remember anything from the night. when rafael leave him awhile to fetch the carriege if im not mistaken, maetel use that chance to snatch louis away. maetel thought that louis always sleep around since he saw that rafael and louis were abt to leave the party together. so thats why he isn't convinced that the child is his.

in conclusion:
-maetel think Louis sleep around, so the child could be anyone's. maetel didn't know that louis is under drug influence that night, so thats why he think that louis purposely avoid to contact him eventhough he leave a note telling louis to contact him before he leave louis the morning after.
-louis doesn't remember they had sex,and he didn't know who leave the note the morning after that. he believes that rafael are the father since sabrina told him that she saw he leave with rafael that night.
