In my opinion she should learn a few things about fighting like swordsmanship, so that she can at least fight back, since she can't always rely of another person.

Tbf not everyone has a talent in martial arts or sword fighting. Seeing as to how she is already busy as heck as the acting head of Lachia, she'll just be wasting her time on learning how to fight when she could be studying economics of something. So spending so much time on something that won't really benefit her would be fruitless ye know. And it takes away the charm of her character who fights in her own way through words and connections.
Imo there should have been more magic stuff going on lol, it fits her character and the plot more. But i guess we will have to wait for the "spirits" to come into play.
