Albert/Albie ( generation 4)is part of a family line that started with this guy names Arden (generation 1). Arden stumbled upon the Vampire master Asha and fell in love with him. It looks like Asha also fell in love with him.
So Arden (gen 1) got tuberculosis and realized he was going to die. This made him sad because he didnt want to leave Asha all lonely. So his dying wish was to "meet him again". Aka, reincarnation. the intensity of his emotion worked like a spell where all his descendents felt a pull/attraction to go to the same mansion and to serve Asha. They all fell in love with Asha. Descendents are Elsie (gen 2), Alberto (gen 3, dad), and Albert (gen 4, main character).
Alberto (gen 3) was so jealous that his son would eventually replace him that he threated Asha to make him immortal and blamed Asha for himself dying of old age. He raised Albert (mc) to hate Asha in hopes that they would never meet. Why would he do that? I believe it's like the saying "If I cant have you, no one can."
The green/blue ghost appears to be Arden, who is haunting both Albert and Asha. He is probably also the voice that Albert hears telling him to "obey and love Asha." Asha is in love with Arden and appears to be projecting them onto Albert.
