Willing to give the dark-haired guy a try. I'm actually all for the puppy-dog-like seme since he's adorable, but who knows, he could turn out to have some kind of twisted personality that we find in a typical bad boy seme or whatever. I just want Chiwoo to end up with someone who truly cares for him in the end, and whomever ends up proving themselves to him whether it's the dark haired guy or the Kyujin, just treat him right. T.T
I'm glad others feel the same way about this genre and the approach the authors are taking. I honestly like the omegaverse au, as I've read plenty of well-written fanfics on ao3, but mangas are just oversaturated with rape. As for the prostitution, I cannot shame anyone, even if I personally disprove. Just...I'm just going to go back to a kinda wholesome manga like Tadaima, Okaeri and cleanse my soul.
I know right? When I read omegaverse in ao3 I find a lot of cute, well-written stories. The omegas are actually treated like people. The alphas actually care. It's not allll stories, but there plenty of good ones.
But in manga, omegas just tend to suffer needlessly. There are more shitty ones than good ones. And I honestly, I think a lot of mangakas are just using the omegaverse as a ruse to have ukes raped. I mean, yaoi is pretty known for having a lot of rape and dub-con situations and with the omegaverse mangakas can just be like ''oh, it's not like I'm into boys getting raped, it's just this world that leaves me no other choice but to have them raped"
Yes, and it's concerning because you can become partially desensitized to reading about it in yaoi situations, just as our reaction is like "oh great, not another one."
I hate to bring this up about a real life rape situation, but there was recent case in which a Japanese father was acquitted after raping his daughter for years (12-19 years) when the court ruled that she should/could have "resisted." Absolutely disgusting, but it goes to show how the topic of rape is seen and treated in Japan, even in reality. We really cannot expect much in yaoi or fictional work sadly. ╥﹏╥
