I love all stories, I just wish they were longer. Also, I love how the mangaka draws their semes. They're not your typical bishie emo-hair anime protagonist looking guys. Not to mention their personalities are also lovable..

kairen February 24, 2021 4:31 am

Ignoring the fact that they're cousins, I love everything about this manga. The art style, the characters, the story, etc. I also like how the mangaka delves into issues like the struggles of being gay and self acceptance. Usually in BLs, especially japanese mangas, the characters are those stereotypical 'oh I'm straight, but I'm gay for that one specific person because that's more romantic and less offensive to society. Also, Bi people don't exist..'. Tbh, I'm kinda sick of it because that's not how it works irl. So it's nice to read about a character that's confident about their sexuality..

I don't get why people find the whole straight but I'm into a dude narrative offensive. It's appeals to women lol, and I mean all women, lots of people I've met that read this are like....Lesbian lol. Many (but not all) want to see a straight dude get fucked over, in an imagined way. I had a talk with this about someone else who was lesbian, and they agreed with me, they preferred reading yaoi about straight guys. That's kind of like the whole point of this genre, it's not about this representation crap, since this medium legit appeals to women who have fantasies towards men. If it was realistic with actual gay people, then I wouldn't read it, since it's real, REALITY. no.
Lesbians don't watch lesbian porn but read yaoi instead, the incredibly non realistic ones. I heard from someone who told me: "I'm not interested in men, I'm not interested in fucking men, but when men are fucking each other, I'm into it." That's why people who talk about representation feel fake to me, even if you are bi or gay. People say this genre is offensive to gay people, don't realize that this appeals to gay women as well who wouldn't watch lesbian porn, and don't even read yuri. It's more about power dynamics between men and women. I'm not gay or bi at all tho lol, but I was surprised when I found out how other people liked this genre.

I'm a guy and I don't particularly find it offensive, it's just feels overused and cliched. And for some reason, it usually occurs in Japanese manga. It feels like a cop out phrase so that they can make two guys be in a relationship without any of them being gay. It's not about representation, it's about people romanticizing gay relationship while sweeping aside the fundamental aspect of it. Yes BLs and Yaois are unrealistic, they do not represent gay relationship irl. But a manga about two straight guys in a relationship is like making an omelet without using eggs. It's pointless..

Also, it shouldn't matter what your sexuality is when reading a manga so I don't know why you brought up lesbians. And you also said that yaois appeals to women. So are you saying that I, as a gay guy, aren't allowed to enjoy it too, and can't give any opinions about it?

p/s : I'm not reprimanding or confronting you here. I'm genuinely trying to explain why a lot of people have a problem with things like this..

I mean I love it don't get me wrong. But it felt a bit rushed in the end. Also what happened to Jaejin? There's potential for a side couple there. And what's the deal with the bully? His issue with Jaejin felt unresolved.. I need more!!

kairen February 21, 2021 2:24 am

I started reading this because it was on someone's masterpiece list, but I dunno if I would call it that. I don't get a lot of good vibes from most of the characters. Beside the main couple, the only couple that seems healthy is the otaku couple, and that started from bullying. We also don't know if the narcissistic guy actually love the sunbae or if he's just into him because he is thin.

The ending also felt a bit rushed because a lot of characters seems to have a lot of unresolved issues like with Dunno and the ex president. Also, I really hated when bad people basically got away with only a slap on a wrist instead of I dunno, maybe put away in jail, or juvie? Not sure about Korean laws but I'm pretty sure attempted rape is serious business.

All in all, I wouldn't say I hated the manhwa, but I don't love it either. It's just wasn't for me I guess..

This part!!! The rape part is so off putting for me! I have no idea what the author expects us to feel towards the gray haired guy but that whole part feels so out of place. I thought the story was going to go somewhere completely different but instead all of those people who were witnessing it and instigating it just go off with no repercussion?

The couple with the archer was also extremely off for me they never even brought up the fact that they knew each other from their childhoods which made just not care about their sub plot at all it was just toxic

I get it’s just a comic but a portion of it is just really negative and dealt with extremely heavy topics that felt down played in a way. Like a gay man blackmailing another whilst understanding the social stigma and how damaging it could be and (the ex president still received no sort of punishment for that!!)

    Fr0stIvy March 2, 2021 10:34 am

It’s literally the middle of the night so everything i write might be incoherent but basically i agree with you. The way the antagonists were able to get away with literally anything and how we’re expected to support and like a character who is practically a fatphobe really ruined the expectations i had for this one

kairen February 17, 2021 8:39 am

Tb it's really hard for me to like the guy. He's clingy, codependent and high maintenance. Everytime Yahwi did something nice for him he gets hopeful like 'omg, does he like me? Am I special to him?'. Like dude, chill.. Have some dignity or something. Also, I can tell that the author is a woman based on how the characters are written. It feel like I'm reading a shoujo manga instead of a bl manhwa..

Not sure I like what the mangaka did with sensei in this manga. He's always been that chaotic neutral type of character, not necessarily good, but wasn't downright evil either. But what he did with the whole 'rape prank' thing to Nanao was malicious. Especially with Nanao's already fragile self-esteem issues. Like Kuon said, he's suppose to be Nanao's emotional support so why is he acting so out of character..

    NekocchiXD February 6, 2021 1:46 pm

Well, he's just a human like the rest of us. I think the mangaka wanted to tell us that no matter the person's age, we're still selfish creatures and that there's more to one person than it seems to be. Although he caused more drama than necessary, I can't really hate him for it, cause you know, when you come to love a person, and "it gets taken away from you", you become jealous and want to hurt the person who you love. Anyways, I like the way he was sketched, i guess

kairen February 3, 2021 3:07 am

His possessiveness is something alright, even Mikado's got nothing on him. He kinda reminds me of my ex though, which kinda makes me miss him a bit as I was reading through this manga.. :'(

kairen February 3, 2021 2:34 am

Normally I'm not that interested in hetero couples especially in bl mangas, but I wouldn't say no to a side story about the eldest Aikawa brother being pursued by the eldest Shirahane sister. I guess since it's bl, Yuu x Nagahisa makes more sense, but I kinda want all the Aikawas to be taken by the Shirahanes lol..

    r4nd0mshlt3 July 30, 2023 8:13 pm

I mean I wouldn’t mind seeing the eldest getting together either

kairen January 26, 2021 10:49 am

As much as I like yandere-ish characters and S&M relationships, I'd prefer it if there's love in the relationship. But the dude in the first story just like abusing the poor omega for no reason, and not in a 'I like to bully the person that I like' kind of way. I though he will redeem himself in later chapters but nope, their story ends there. It left a bad taste in my mouth..

kairen January 26, 2021 3:43 am

I wasn't prepared to see the 'dad' version of the characters from Abarenbo honey, especially Hachi and now I have to lie down for a while..
