Frederick literally was sent there to steal from Serenity, he has been lying to her for years. Now all of sudden he loves her & is trynna protect her from the people that sent him? We don’t know what or how much information he has given out. Serenity is everything to Serena, no matter how honest he is he messed with the 1 thing she cares about the most. I doubt she’ll forgive him. Eizer although never fully honest with his intentions has never lied to Serena, he had an agreement with her grandma that to now he has kept. He had no obligation towards serena beside being a husband, which he has. Serena on the other hand has not only maid a fool of herself & family name by flaunting her “lover” but has also embarrassed Ezier has his wife. Again Eizer has no obligation to Serena but he’s also helping her become a strong confident boss (unlike her grandma who hasn’t told her shit, & Federick who has deceived her & only baby her). Although he is not perfect Eizer has been the one good thing to happen to Serena, he saved her family & has helped her grow as a person.

Similar start but slightly different paths. One has a lot of filler/no real revenge plot and another is short and complete with 36 chapters.
