okay but the name of the story is “the VILLAIN discovered my identity” 44 chapters later ignis -the so called villain of the book- still has no clue lmao on top of that, letio is showing a very twisted mindset of course our minds go tHERE ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
as in many isekais, they seem very different from the original story (after all they are actual people in the fl’s world now, not just plain characters) and in this sense it IS possible that letio is acting “villainish”
it just proves heroes or villains are not a set thing, it all changes with perspective
i agree that this can be the interpretation of identity/secret identy! but still the ideas of hero and villain are slowly changing here:
even if letio grew up not knowing social norms, selena has already noticed some odd behaviours/tendencies
while ignis has been proven different than just a villain role and she has noticed it even better in the late chapters (and even got a heavy conscience because he has been “too good for a villain”)
not to mention since the beginning ignis’ villain acts in the story where only made so he could survive
i think this webtoon plays well with this idea of good and bad! i can’t wait to see what happens next!!
smhw i feel like this could be a play on how letio is actually the "villain who discovered her identity" here since we're seeing some seriously unsettling behavior from him. and so it s like a reversal from who the original "good" and "bad" characters were.... or maybe i m just reading into smtg that s not there but that what i thought hahahha ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
this is quite refreshing! the beginning reminds me of “death is the only ending for the villainess” (adopted kid as a substitute and mistreated by the father and brothers) but as it progresses it develops in a different way. i love hexion’s personality too! strong but still soft and honest when it comes to adele
im curious about the forest dude hexilight or something, maybe adele is a descendant of his?? and the dudes that were following her but couldn’t enter the forest.. and the red-eyed fairy hM also gurl how could you leave your notebook with all the transcripts behind what if the lunatic stepbrother reads it...
anyway i can’t wait for season 2! thanks for translating!!
a lot of feelings from these flashbacks chapters i still wanna write about... but for now the more infuriating feeling is how real this is, how from history we know the church acted like this several times to ensure their power (besides, many characters resemble real historic people like the pope and cardinal richelieu -at least in name in time period) instead of acting like “people of god” disgustinggggg
ive read a lot of the novel (no spoilers ahead) and even if the way zeronis shows he is worried is a bit twisted (he could have asked her about the nosebleed and all but he commands her here and there), you can see he loves ripley a lot, specially in the most recent chapters of this webtoon
my only issue with their relationship is the beginning of this story tho... the way he phrases he won’t let her go no matter what is supposed to be romantic but having sex with her while she was obviously too wasted to give actual consent makes me hesitate a lot... the way the aftermath was written makes it seem like he forced her into conformity for their marriage until she eventually gave up/fell for him
i like this story a lot, i keep reading it because it’s funny and cute and ripley faces some actual hardships (instead of just magically solving everything like other isekais) but i think if at the beginning he didn’t act so violently to earn her heart, specially after sex being sober while she was drunk, would have been even better...
But that's the premise of the story Ripley transmigrated into isn't it? She unintentionally captured the obsessive duke's attention lol. Being as obsessive as he is, he will do anything to get her. I mean in the novel, he already anticipated that she won't remember the time they had sex last night. It's creepy yeah, but that's the obsessive and merciless duke(which gradually softened the more interaction he had with Ripley-- which resulted in him being more different than the one Ripley knows in the novel she read).
being the premise doesn’t make it any better tho, it still a point in the story that makes you feel conflicted to some point. even if the period can explain it, it shouldn’t excuse it... :/ there were still plenty of ways to make the ruthless duke soften his heart...
if he admitted fault in his actions as he becomes different from the original plot, it would be great too!
okay they aren’t siblings or related by blood, yustav doesnt see her as a sister: so why does she have to call him brother all the time it feels so awkwarddddd the issue lies exactly there, whY force this brother thing if they are meant to be the webtoon/novel couple?
when they start acknowledging their feelings for each other or when yustav asks her to see him as a man she will just suddenly get over the brother complex and poof forget she treated and called him as a younger sibling all this time? urghhhh author why did you do this......
okay guys i don’t mean to fight too and this is not by any means a negative comment. they are not related, we know this. to me, the issue is more a matter of nomenclature than actual morals/incest. i’m simply questioning how their relationship will develop when they start dating:
will she keep on calling him brother? will she walk over it as if it’s nothing? when will she stop acting like this fictional world isn’t the world she lives in now? (honestly why all fl in transmigration stories are like this...) this kind of questioning
i mean she saw some random furry spirit dudes nothing else will be as surprising here hakwksksh
I think you might be forgetting something. This is a translation. Which means the real dialogue is in korean. In this language, Oppa (Old brother) and Noona (Old Sister - here, noonim) are used by almost everyone, be it couple, friends or real family (unless they find it cringy which is somehow normal). In this case, Ran uses the title of little brother to call him, since it shows a closer relationship. It might not be about the real fact that they are step-brother and step-sister. Since they never lived together, it would be pretty strange to call each other as brother or sister with the real intent of it, right?
I don't even understand how can people still think the translation for oppa or noona in korean webtoon would always means family. Since that's NOT the case. Just like the Daddy issue in english.
honestly i just keep reading this because i’ve already got too far to drop it now and the end is in 20 chapters but it stopped being interesting to me a long ago (not to mention the issues with incomprehensible translations). author was aiming for a smart and strong female character but just created a smartass plain one...
but if you like it feel free to let me know why lmao
i like this! the art is different from the currently famous webtoon going on (tho they are pretty they kinda look all the same...) and it’s funny and refreshing i love aston’s dumb knights and i love how grace is an unbothered and understanding queen that just wants her unicorn man jsjsjsjs also i love how when she first experienced holy powers she was like “with this i could have transgressed gender” lmao i really like how she just told aston her secrets as opposed to isekais that take ages to clear the misunderstandings of “oh no i dont deserve it im living a life that isn’t mine” and he was just like okay but my curse lmao i love them,,,,,

okay but her dad had so much screen time it’s almost like he is the ml hsksjsjsjs
