While I do agree that the doctor is evil and it's his fault, it's also the couple's fault for letting someone come between them. They should be honest with each other and not trust anyone blindly. you don't have to choose a side and you can sympathize with them both . she was a naive girl and tired wife and Ian was mentally/physically ill and a tired patient
