in book 2, the holy knight is in charge of the expedition to investigate if the ancient warlocks (a long time ago, 1/2 wizards went to the tower, 1/2 fought and were exiled) were the brains behind the big monster subjugation in book 1. he's loyal to the church, whos keeping the secret that an important stone was stolen during the war, so he and the other holy knights spend the whole book trying to recover the item while keeping tabs on the tower wizards to make sure they don't get their hands on the same type of black magic. hes a good character in the sense that he ends up often saving maxi's life/helping maxi, she trusts him and he somehow subtly and maybe subconsciously cares for maxi, which makes riftan jealous xD his main thing as a character is someone very likely with anti-social personality disorder who’s found structure and control for his violent tendencies in strict religious and military life.

i was gonna rate this low cos of how fucked up this was in the beginning but damn the buildup and that last battle got me forgetting all the bad shit they did to mc for a bit like damn im so conflicted rn idk what to feel i feel so immoral for suddenly not super hating this??? like dont get me wrong, all the rape and shit they put mc throught was horrible and i feel so bad for mc, but the way the author wrote this really makes you have mixed feelings like wth i dont wanna like this but damn.. and i now dont want mc to leave amidst all the shit they put him throught which i know is wrong skxskskx tbh i ended up liking their individual dynamics with mc (except for heesu, and minus all the rape ofc) so theres that T__T i hope the mc can now live happily after all that almuten shit, tbh i wouldnt mind if the whole team 1 ended in like a poly or something but they better fucking make it up to mc and give him the world and everything nice!!!
