When your daughter helps you get your life together.......
THATS SO CUTE ^^

I don't think any father plans to die when their child is only 10 years old. Like most parents, he'd probably planned to allow her to fully enjoy her childhood, and then introduce her to things that are harder for a young child to understand when she entered her early teens. You can tell her cares about her deeply, and you cannot take the reincarnation factor out of their relationship either. Remember that in this case it's more of a "18 yr old girl helps man in his 20-somethings escape death with her knowledge of the future." She isn't actually 8, nor does she act like an 8 year old. (๑•ㅂ•)و✧

Oh, I meant more in terms of contingencies rather than introducing her to things. Like how parents save for their child's future, start a college fund or otherwise invest in them - even when the child is very young, even when the child may not even want to go to college. It's a contingency, something to support them.
In this case, it would be probably fighting a bit more to get his daughter a good dowry at the very least, for her eventual marriage in the future. The father already saw how his daughter was being treated by his nephews, so it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to imagine what would happen in the future if the grandfather dies before the daughter's coming of age ceremony. Father has no power in the house, so they may even have been kicked out regardless of whether he was alive or not. It's not like he had no talents, he's shown to be a good writer. Even if he had gained some traction using his books, it would still be a lifeline he could use later.
I understand that he likely faced problems as the youngest in his own childhood, especially if inheritance is based on age. Plus, him having a child with someone not approved by the family may have hurt his reputation further, shaking his grandfather's trust in him. Still, the fact that his child was facing open hostility in his own house should have been reason enough for him to try to be something besides a comforting presence.
