I feel terrible for Elisier. Imagine being in a position of power and yet not being able to protect your brother from your father's schemes, seeing your brother visibly pull away from you and be so friendly and open and almost a totally different person with strangers, and those strangers are suspicious of YOU bc of all the attempted assassinations even though you have nothing but love for him.
You can't be fully honest and threadbare bc again, position of power, but you desperately want to at least talk to your brother. You want him to come back home but you know he's much safer and happier and freer here.
It's just a tragic situation for the siblings.

Now I'm wondering what the colours of each of the MLs actually mean. If Callisto's red/pink means true love and Eclis's grey/black danger, is Vinter's purple for protection? Reynolds pink for familial love?
Protection sounds like a good one too, I was originally thinking more platonic but this chapter made me rethink that (even though what he said wasn't necessarily romantic). That's the most emotion he has shown towards Pen.
