I agree with everyone that Maya won't want to do anything with Ruka, and that Ruka is going to try something with Maya.
But even if Maya turns him down, Ruka seems like the kind of passive-aggressive guy who'd keep him later and later and make offhand comments to Nemu about Maya that makes it seem like he's cheating. Once you make someone think that, it's impossible to get rid of that notion. Nemu's so insecure that he'd believe it.
Plus Maya tends to talk about how amazing Ruka is anyways, so Nemu might just be feeling really inferior and like he needs to be better for Maya while Maya is pretty oblivious.

Well, for one, people would expect romance because it's labeled as BL. Some think of it as geniune and some think of it as red herrings and the pseudo-affections. It all depends upon people's interpretation.

Yes, relationship of fictional characters. I don't think the people who are adamant in viewing romance blossoming between them deny that there are abuse happening and are okay with it. I guess they cling on the occasional displays of affection and go from there.

The fonts may be narrow, but I think it fits the manga style, the art lines are also pretty narrow. Aesthetically speaking, I think it works out pretty well.
