It amazes me how the 2nd couple isn't the main story. I mean the forced miscommunication in the 1st could easily be shortened into a one-shot. I personally find the 2nd couple way more likeable too.

I heavily disagree with you i think in this case its healthy, even if its just rumors nobody would like their S/O to talk to someone who is known for stealing ppls partners and they don't have a friendly chemistry its blatant flirting yet the uke barely puts boundaries and the seme already told the uke that hes jealous. And also there is no ugly emotions they are emotions. Sadness jealousy anger these stuff are as beautiful as happiness love and others.
Hmm in this case I agree with your point on the uke. He should have set boundaries and reassurances to the seme. But I guess if that happened, we wouldn't have seen the perspective of the other guy and the truth to the false rumours.
On the other hand, I still stand by my view on communication. In the last chapter, the seme avoids rather than discuss. Iirc in some cases the seme was also quite aggressive when talking to the uke. I still think it's rather unhealthy.

I barely have any context from the original but I can still say this was a good read. The relationship grew so organically and their struggles felt realistic.
I grew up with males who needed to live the stereotypical male personality. They tend to keep their feelings to themselves and if they face any issues they would just work it out alone. So what they did along the way just feels kinda real.
I'm also glad the friends were portrayed as apprehensive but understanding. Their reasons were valid, like his role as captain, focusing on your team rather than be distracted, she likes him but understands boundaries. My only gripe was the sexual assault bit. It wasn't really necessary but then again I don't have context from the original manga.
Overall, worth rereading!
