Uhm, no the FL is not weak, her reaction is very realistic. I mean, imagine yourself in her shoes, she only focused on the contract and she didn't even end up falling for him because she always remembers how she was only his wife by contract and the red girl WOULD replace her after the contract expired. It is according to my opinion, i haven't read the novel but i will read it. FYI, Odette is red flag too.

It's actually often the minors that simp for rape culture, while adults are calling it out.

Yes, they are bad things. We all know they are bad things. Bad things are allowed to be explored in fiction because it's FICTION and it's harmless but interesting, and people are allowed to like it. OP is mad because people aren't allowed to just enjoy fiction for what is anymore without people trying to be white knights for literal fictional characters with no real thoughts or feelings.

It's a fantasy world. I don't support rape but it's a free world where ppl are free to read and write and illustrate what they want. I would disagree with you on the age thing. But then again, that's a discussion for another day.

I hate Stockholm Syndrome but have read a few. Rape is a different kind of topic for me. If I had to choose one over the others rape is better than Stockholm.

I don't know why ppl are getting so worked up about a fictional story, because CLEARLY, no one in their right mind would be ok with this IRL. Ppl confuse fiction with real life all of the time, I suppose.

You can enjoy something without justifying it and defending it, you can still criticize the wrongness of it.

It's the defending it that's the problem, but you'll point the finger at the people that call it out as if they're bad people.

I watch serial criminal documentaries, I enjoy them, but I don't defend rape and murder.

We can like something and still criticize it and not get offended that people are disgusted about disgusting things.

BL ISN'T about LGBTQ+++++ material. It's LITERALLY made by straight women for OTHER straight women. It isn't representative of real life and has never been meant to be. That is section reserved for LGTBQ+ alone....

You just LITERALLY compares real life rape cases with fiction as if they are the same thing (what with yours watching criminal cases- which are literally REAL WORLD shit) to a fictional world, where women have sexual fantasies about rape....really. Whos gonna tell this person that lgbtqa+ authors, especially gays, have long existed in the yaoi/bl space and used their talents to share lgbtqa+ experiences but sometimes use female-sounding pen names to hide their identity and avoid potential persecution from homophobic ppl.

The ORIGINAL intention of BL is as stated above, it doesn't exclude other ppl from participating, but BL wasn't intended to be representative of the LGBTQ+ community.

You can argue that yaoi/bl isn't representative of the lgbtqa+ community because of its origins. But that does not mean it is exempted from criticism is it? Whether you like it or not, repetitive abusive tropes in media can alter certain ppls perception in reality. Just days ago I came across a person who admitted they don't like reading stories with bi characters because many of the mangas they have read portrayed bis as cheaters. Asking for a more positive representation of lgbtqa+ is not really unreasonable.

Idc what ppl pump out, as long as ppl like that don't exist. But they do, so what do you want creators to do?!? Change their approach to fight for some cause?!? People paint n make art and stories the way they want to...their paintbrush wasn't meant for us, but for themselves.

Have you ever consumed heterosexual r18+ content? Have you ever watched or even heard of hentai? It's not even just as bad, it tends to be far worse than the average BL, rape and all. It's not about homophobia. It's not about "rape culture" or anything else in the real world. Also, I'm both queer and nonbinary and I know several gay men who love bl as much as I do. Throw those assumptions and judgments out the window.

It's about adult fiction and all the bizarre, taboo, or just rougher fantasies that people like to enjoy in a controlled space outside of reality. You can't even compare it to murder documentaries because this has no real world effect and the enjoyment gained from it does absolutely no harm to anyone in the real world. It's not defended as an action, rape as an action is never okay, but its space to exist in a story is defended because that's all it is. A story. Murder, cheating, stealing, dystopia, genocide— all of these horrible things exist in fiction and could be argued to be even worse than rape yet no one comments on those or guilts people for resding the– and good to that. They should absolutely be allowed to be read and enjoyed I will defend that until the day I die. Policing the FICTIONAL content created and consumed is ridiculous and only leads to something dystopian in real life.

Rather than trying to stay on your high horse on AN ILLEGAL WEBSITE and preaching to others about morality in fiction, just don't consume it and let others enjoy what they want when it does no harm.

And I don't give a fuck, I like to read about rape in fiction, so what? It's not illegal and it's not boring. IN FICTION, some of us are smart enough to tell the difference, sorry if you're not.
