I'd try to understand if they at least never had a sibling like relationship. But no they absolutely treated each other like siblings then stayed apart for a while and BOOM fell in love with her brother. This is super weird. Doesn't matter if they're not related by blood. What I'm saying is there are many manhwas out there where romance like this is shown and they're neither blood related there nor do they treat each other like siblings from childhood but here? They were like just any other normal siblings. Doesn't matter if they aren't related. HOW CAN YOU DEVELOP ROMANTIC FEELINGS FOR SOMEONE YOU'VE SEEN AS YOUR OWN BROTHER /SISTER FOR YEARS?

The most beautiful thing I think about a story is that the writer may write the story under a certain context but it's solely upto the readers how they're gonna interpret it. A story may have a thousand different interpretation depending on a thousand different readers.
This might as well be the most beautiful exceptionally written amusing story I've yet come across. Literally a masterpiece and I love every single thing about this. This story HURT my soul and healed it as well. Loved the depth of the characters and the whole story itself.
I loved the entire story and there are countless of panels and moments that will literally be engraved in mind for a very long time, that's how much impact the story had on me.
But few of the parts that absolutely either mesmerised me or Wrecked me were
● When she said "Just like how you are my source of comfort, I am yours" (ch57). Both of them were trying to find comfort and hope in each other to survive when they were at their lowest.
● When he gave her his pin during her escape. The pin itself symbolises Victory. Giving it to her in that moment because she finally achieved the victory and the freedom in the end that she's always wanted for herself. Also giving her the most important piece of his.
● When he confessed with a bright smile that he loved her when she was escaping the ship. Basically the entire part during her escape.
● When the empress said it wasn't the fall of the war hero and referred it as finally "Landing"
● The meaning of their rings
● Maria.
Can't believe how underrated this is. To everyone who has recommended this to me before, I should've listened to you sooner.

I just finished reading this, ive been trying to read this the slowest that i could so i still have more to read the next day and the next after that BUT NOW THAT I FINISHED IT, IM ABSOLUTELY BOTH BROKEN AND HAPPY. Ur comment just made me relive every chapter all over again and I thank u for that nimonomino <33

Unpopular opinion but unlike most of the exes in manhwas, her ex boyfriend was a really nice guy too. It was just she wasn't ready for marriage back then. So when he proposed to her, she refused and eventually they broke up but he did love her. Cause when he saw her struggling (before he knew about Hyunwoo) he wanted to raise the child together regardless of who the father was, even if it meant they wouldn't get married. And one wouldn't do these unless they love the other person, on top that after breaking up.
Also I liked the fact that he gave up after talking to hyunwoo and seeing her talking like that about him.
So my point is nothing. I just wanted to appreciate dude a little bit
Been rooting for Dowon since the beginning. So glad he's the endgame. Loved the ending. Still kinda bitter cause we didn't get to see them being lovey dovey more TT Loved it nonetheless.
Jun. Loved the fact that we got to see Jun growing more as a person, having a beautiful development, healing his inner child, learning to appreciate himself and give himself credit for his hardwork more.
Jaeha. Glad Jaeha got the closure he needed. Maybe because I didn't really dislike him, I'd hate it if he ended up miserable. He was wrong for what he did to other people I know but I can't 100% blame him after knowing his upbringing. He changed after meeting Gaeun. He loved her and changed that's why he got scared and abruptly broke up with her because he knew what kind of person he was. Tho I kinda wanted him to find love for himself again, I'm so glad he found his long needed closure. I feel like now he will be able to move on and live without any regrets. At least now he's free from his guilt and will heal.
Sangu. I'm glad Sangu also grew up well. He grew up to be the person he always wanted to be. I don't think he was a bad person, he was just twisted. Can't call him good or bad. He saw his family before and knew how his brother was. He wanted to grow up to be a nice and warm person which he never had around him. And he did in the end.
Uyeong. I'd be lying if I said I never thought of her with Dowon together. They'd also make a good couple I think. Loved Uyeong so much. She healed, moved on, got her best friend back. Su-a also seemed happy in the end. Glad she realised her mistakes and finally grew up to be a better person.
And finally my favourite Dowon, my boy got to be with his long term love, what's more there to ask for. Gaeun, Haeun also grew up so well despite losing their family so early on. Glad we got to see everyone's happily ever after. There may be hardships that they'll face ahead of them in the future. But at least they all have someone and each other to rely on to get through this together.
It's a happy ending for everyone. What more could we readers ask for?
