Yuri has an awful personality (and he knows it) but you can see in the way he and Yohan argue that he does care about his best friend in his own way. You can actually see throughout the story the Yuri and Yohan swap clothes a lot, he clearly knows Yohan well, and in the extras he brings food over to Yohan/Moogyeon’s place with all of Yohan’s favourite things despite saying he wouldn’t share any with him. Yuri says a lot of horrible shit that he doesn’t mean all the time - like when he hears out Moogyeong and Yohan when they need to talk about their relationship (which he wouldn’t do if he didn’t care) he gets pissed off because they unknowingly hit a nerve by inadvertently insulting his boyfriend. So Yuri says some evil shit to make them feel as bad as he does and then immediately after getting hit by Moogyeong he calls Yohan to let him know what’s going on. If you read between the lines even though he’s saying all this stuff about suing he is actually trying to help his friend sort out the relationship drama while pretending to not care because he doesn’t want to appear vulnerable. Does this make what he does right? Not even slightly, lmao. Does this make him an interesting and understandable character? Yes, imo. I don’t think Yuri was written to be necessarily a likeable character but he is an interesting character. You can see the logic in why he does things if you look at his dialogue and the way the author talks about his internal world which we don’t get to see much in this manhwa. What is undoubtable is that despite literally fist fighting, talking shit, and bitching at eachother - Yohan and Yuri remained friends for over 10 years and for a friendship to last that long they must at the very least care.
Anyway, it’s fine to not like him (obviously) because he is unambiguously mean but I hope you get a better idea of how his mind works from my explanation, byeee xoxoxox
Even in Yuri's story form of sympathy, Yohan and him has really great best friendship chemistry! So touching.
