Did the author make the mc ugly so we would sympathise less with him? Koreans are usually highly lookist even if its unintentional, kind of a smart thing to do but also very vile when you think about whats gonna happen to the mc (raw readers know).

Yeah, i understand why people disliked this i mean it looks like im saying that he's ugly. I do think he is, i just was very geniune when i was questioning the authors intentions, their writing skills seem super shitty to me anyway cause this story is all over the place. i still sympathise with the mc a lot in general and its not like hes horrible looking, hes a cute type of ugly like my dog. Respectfully.

If the blonde guy chose to get therapy instead of raping an innocent man i would've loved to see that. I do believe he changed but sadly this story did romaticise, minimise, sexualise and dismiss the rape for the first half before suddenly switching up. Authors really need to incorporate human psychology when they put rape scenes because this is so stupidly disgusting. The rape scenes were more graphic than jinx, atleast they showed that Dan was in a lot of pain and hated it. The blonde guys apparent 'love' is probably just lima syndrome, so illogical to call it love. Its drawn fiction not those imaginary senarios in your head anymore have some fucking class and present victims properly. Sympathising with rapists once again, its like they seperate the action from the person or something. Remove the psychological tag if youre only going to use it to give the rapist a sob story, mc is here too.

Didn't the mc get raped multiple times within the first 10 chaps? I havent read this in a long time but im pretty sure thats why i dropped this

Here's what new readers don't know and why older readers consider this a masterpiece: Ch. 1 was intended to be a one-shot for a BDSM-themed magazine issue. Because she ended it with Akihito vowing to take Asami down, and Asami telling Akihito he looked forward to it, fans began bombarding YA with, "What happened next?!" Strong uke characters back then (in 2002) were not the norm, which is why so many found it intriguing.
It eventually turned into a series, with YA eventually trying to salvage the damage from the first few chapters to turn it into a love story between a photojournalist and a crime lord. It is from that point (when it turns into a continuing story in Vol. 3) that the story becomes really good. Vol. 2 is a backstory about the character Fei Long, which sets up the present conflict in Vols. 3, 4, and 5 known as "The Naked Truth" arc

Yeah thats why i was just saying if you forget about the sexual assault its very good, my memory is blurry though since i read this like 3 or 4 years ago. I didn't look at any of the sexual scenes and just skimmed since well, i was homophobic and uninterested so i dont really consider it my first bl. The plot is what I found intriguing though, for now, i will not be rereading this since I've been trying to conquer my 'I want to read' list
