ok. so the cube that rum and ginger had to deliver has god's power (contents of the cube can recreate memories and hidden thoughts of the person exposed to it). so ginger, opened the cube just a little so he can see inside Rum's head and real feelings but Rum, having understood what Ginger had done, felt betrayed.
so Rum maed a big fuss out of it and the cube (!!) was left open a little too long. Th cube ended up consuming both Rum AND Ginger. Rum fainted and Ginger tried to keep them safe from the power of the cube by releasing his "two" existence [[im not sure if he released them actually]]. Ginger had both his angel and demon side try to keep the cube from collapsing on them.
in the end they got saved by Mino-sama.
