Very realistic ending. Good series overall however there are some unanswered questions concerning other characters. Kondou is a really great character for recognizing his love for Akira, however not allowing it to control her destiny. He knew he would've held her back. He is a coward though. For not reading Akira's letter. It's understandable. It probably would've swayed his emotions greatly and changed his decision on turning her down.
