Not that confusing imo. Risky used him to draw out an opponent and hurt him. Then once he was done using him, he burnt down his village, with his brother in it, and locked him up. His right hand man thinks he's keeping him around bc he's fallen for him so he "let him escape" but he's actually killing him.
