The timing of MikxFei is so poor. It should have been the extra at the end of the released volume. Now it will just be overshadowed by the anxiety and disappointment of the poor ending of this arc. There isn’t any sex scenes in his volume so maybe the editor had to force one in or something.

I agree that that scene can be done without it. Based on the spoilers that I have seen, I think the author is trying to show that Fei and Mikhail with some commonality with the aftermath of confronting a family member. They are trying to 'lick each other wounds' sort of speak, but sex isn't the answer to everything.
At the same time, it's pushing the Fei x Mikhail ship a bit more. Personally, i am a bit disappointed because i would like to see Fei and Yoh more. I wonder why bother bring Yoh into the picture if he'll get discarded later. (I digress)
