He’s not supposed to be brainwashed anymore. The brainwashing was supposed to be broken at the mountains when he refused to kill Sanghee against a direct order from his superior. It really didn’t come across here cause they changed it, but negating his duty to the Empire caused such an internal turmoil in Jinsu, that he ripped off his hair and blood vessels erupted all over his body drenching him in blood from head to toe. He was close to death until the sight of Sanghee caused him to undergo a second awakening, which increased his magical reserves and allowed him to break free from the brainwashing. Now he’s just supposed to be in hiding from the Empire cause he’s public enemy #1.
