The villain (spirit) was already possessing the brother and father of our mc (dang), the brother hypnotized mc to not speak that he has ultimate ying/yang (i forgot hahaha). The brother is possessed by the villain. The villain plans is to possess the body of the demon cult leader and be a kinda hubby to mc and when the baby is born he will possess the baby since the baby will have the balance of ying and yang which is a very strong body. Whatever happened to mc in the past was the plan of the villain. It's such a great manga and novel. Worth waiting for. So please keep supporting the mangaka and the novelist (๑•ㅂ•)و✧

tbf the horrible treatment didnt JUST start after he got brain washed. He's always been indifferent and condescending toward her.

seeing him like this, I felt bad too, but that's by forgetting what happened. he wasn't brainwashed before and still made her life shitty, letting her go to prison, accusing her of everything and thinking only gifts could bring HIM the smile he wants to see... he never once tried to understand her, nor make her feel better, he contributed greatly to the neglect and abuse she was suffering from in HIS home... so yeah, seeing his emotional face stings, but she's right. at least reynold had the decency to say sorry, and to acknoledge she didn't have to forgive him. Derrick didn't, he's just selfish wanting her to shut up and smile for him, ignoring her pain

Did you just forget what he did or how he behaved with her in the beginning of the manhwa and even before laila was introduced? He always treated her like the rebel little girl who's always just hot headed and does whatever she wants. No matter whose fault it was,he always chose to pin the blame of Penelope cause that was always convenient. It's not the fact that he's being brainwashed, but the fact that that's what he's always been like.
Unlike the pink head(can't recall his name) and the father, who showed actual character development and honestly started to feel remorse; Derick did not show any of those things that are supposed to make him likeable.

I know that he did a bad things to her, but I can't help it to feel sorry for the both of them... Hehehe... I just want for them to forgive and move on to a much better future. I know derrick is regretting what he did and now suffering from it... I just feel bad (￣∇￣")

whoa will there be conflict between future cheon and the present?

If my memories is right the future cheon wants to reclaim or retrieve the nano machine to our fetish arm mc, since the future cheon family is facing a problem and they need the gathered knowledge of nano machine. Well the mc at first gets mad then the future cheon explain their situation so the mc taught him the martial arts hahaha

But he did spare him coz he is his descendant and broke his arm
