I think FL being depressed and insecure is completely valid! It's realistic that she felt that way. I love that she's strong and smart but also sensitive. Comments expecting her to overcome all this easily just bc she has ML, who loves her so much, are wild lol not everything is sunshine and rainbow and can pass within seconds. They must lack emotional intelligence to think like that smh

Me personally, I still think he's both a trashy spouse and father. There's no way in hell that I'm willing to forget how he tried to abort his own children just cuz he had some stupid gut feeling that they were monsters or some bs. There's no way he can be a good father because if Ray didn't save her children from him, he wouldn't even be a "father" at all. I don't know how low the standards would have to be to consider Clodan a decent father.

I meant after that, he thought his kids were monsters and from the start we all know Clodan is red flag crazy and accepted that. I just thought that in this new arc he will straight up be nasty to his kids right at the start because of his obsession with Ray, not caring for them as soon as he saw them because he finally realized they were his real children. I’m not suddenly saying he’s the best dad, I just wanted to point out very minor comparisons with some obsessive MLs I’ve read where they are just obsessed with FLs and barely gives time to their children. (The most recent I can remember is Call Me The Devil, but he immediately redeemed himself)

Fair point. I mistook what you said and thought you were praising Clodan for being a great father or smth like. I agree that there have definitely been worse fathers out there, and I was also pretty surprised to find out that Clodan actually got along with the kids considering how obsessed he was with Ray. Speaking of "redeemed", I'm curious as to whether people find Clodan redeemable. As you brought up, Clodan in this new arc is(so far) behaving better than he has been before. But, is that enough to erase his past misconducts? I know this is a bit off topic but I was wondering about how other people felt about this... I'm just trying to find a good reason to forgive Clodan because something tells me that Ray will somehow end up with him in the end and I need to be convinced that Clodan is decent before I can be happy with them getting back together.

Noooo, he thought they were monsters similar to the servants. Think about monsters with no like thiughts cause they’re babies. They could easily eat away their mother. Clodan just didnt know that they would be human

I think he’s “redeemable”. I’m someone who believes in “everyone deserves a second chance” so I always thought a character can be redeemed. Of course not every situation end in a good note. I think what makes Clodan redeemable is that he realized a lot of stuff and is willing to change for his family. It definitely doesn’t erase his wrongdoings, but they can definitely do something about the present and future. If you see someone putting an effort to be a better person, there’s a chance they are for real trying to improve (again, not always the case, before someone comes for me LOL). Giving someone a second chance doesn’t have to mean to forgive their past wrongdoings, and definitely not to erase that, but both sides have to choose to move forward and live in the present for the future. That’s my take on it. In this case, looks like Clodan is willing to improve, so if Ray does give him a chance, I think there’s really no reason why they can’t have a happy future with their family.

Also I wanted to add about Clodan being a trash father. He indeed wanted to kill his children even before they’re born, and he’s trash for that but also considering he was worried they will be monsters who can kill Ray, I don’t really see that as him being a “bad father”. People are naturally scared of the unknowns, so to me, it’s reasonable why he thought about it. It’s a fictional story so monsters and whatnot is “normal”. I think what makes people label these types of characters to be “unredeemable trash” is because to them, the children could only be human (or half but still human form), so he’s wrong. But really, they could also be senseless monsters. Idk if I made sense but that’s just my opinion. Clodan’s obviously not all rainbows and unicorns and I definitely do not like his past self, but I do think he can be redeemed based on the present (latest chapters).

Love this post. I also agree that he's still redeemable because he's realized his mistakes, is regretful and sincerely apologetic about it, will be making efforts to change, and isn't pushing said changes onto the woman he loves.
The irredeemable trashier MLs are the ones that think they can just magically undo all their wrongs and take their lady back by any means necessary.

Well, I'll be darned- I never thought I would change my mind about Clodan, but here I am now. I can't even argue anymore since all the points you made are completely valid. I admit it was pretty shallow of me to only consider the situation from a reader's perspective instead of actually trying to understand Clodan's actions. Because even though the fact of the matter is that Clodan tried to abort his children, it was out of genuine concern for Ray's life. To Clodan, it eas either he loses the love of his life and sacrifice her for what he can only assume are monsters, or he gets rid of the problem before it has the chance to fester. So, as drastic as his actions were, I get where he was coming from. And I love the whole idea of "a second chance". I never believed in "second chances" before because I always thought that past mistakes are set in stone and that "forgiving and forgetting" would just lead to a repetitive cycle of toxicity. But after reading yout post, I gained nuance on this whole "reedeemable" debate. I owe you a thank you for broadening my knowledge anf opinion on this matter.

I realized it was pretty closed minded of me to not consider Clodan's reasons for trying to abort his kids. I regret not taking into consideration the intentions of Clodan before. Because, as you said, it's not as though Clodan wanted to get rid of the unborn babies because he didn't want children. Clodan was just trying to do what he believed would be best for his lover's health and wellbeing. I wasn't thinking about this before and have been pretty harsh on Clodan this whole time, so thanks for clearing things up with your explanation.

To each their own but I personally like it! I feel like characters are fleshed out so far and I appreciate the way they handle the cycle of abuse through the MLs family. I also think the art is pretty. I'd take a chance and see if you like it

I also think it's a good story not one to judge also I think the low ratings are because of the quality of some of the chapters.

But is an 8.8 a low rating? I usually read the first 5 chapters instead of reading by rating mainly due to others. Like their tastes might not be the same as mine, hence the rating. Also art does a lot to the rating so something that might have good art really sucks at the storyline (ie plot holes, etc.)

I wouldn't let a low rating deter you from reading cause there are some quite good gems out there ( ᜊº-° )ᜊ

oh okay, I'll give this a try then! I don't really have such a high standards with the plot as long as their entertaining enough. So far, incidentally, 9.1+ ratings works for me the most unless I already know some low ratings before on other sites hehe thank you!
