i think the issue with yahwi's confession here is that it isn't genuine. that isn't to say that he doesn't actually have feelings for jooin, he likely does, which is why he is so desperate to keep jooin from leaving. the problem is that he doesn't understand it because he hasn't had feelings like that for some one before, so he keeps them buried. the reason he "confesses" to jooin here is not out of his feelings for jooin but rather because that is what he thinks jooin wants to hear. it's a desperate move to keep jooin from walking away. this is why when jooin looks in yahwi's eyes, he is upset. he sees that there is no genuine feeling behind that confession. it's explained better in the next chapter. anyway if you read all that congrats and thank you for coming to my ted talk ig
