I like the chief a lot but Soojung is just so shady, I hope she falls in love with another person and the chief could be happy with someone else too. Even if she had difficult past that's no excuse to do what she did to Taesoo (because obviously she is the ex-girlfriend), you can't use pity has an excuse for the way you behave and the choices you make. Maybe I sound harsh but I say this from experience.

Wow you people must have never been in her shoes to judge her so harshly. Watching a loved one bedridden/ taking care of a sick person for a long time is hard, add to that having to spend her hard earned money on a seemingly already dying father for a long time, any normal person would feel they way she felt in this chapter no matter how fleetingly.

Actually I have personally seen and known people in her exact situation and unlike her they actually value and love their sick/dying parent even if they are having to spend their "hard earned money" because they aren't immature, materialistic brats who don't know how to show respect towards someone who gave them everything and raised them their whole lives. So no, I don't sympathize with her at all and no, no "normal" person would feel the same way as her.

You probably live in a bubble where all families are happy, parents are nurturing and children are dutiful. You see those people who take care of their sick parents ant think you know how they feel because hey everything is as it seems, right? You have no idea how tiring it truly is. And maybe the few people that you know have never been once resentful (not even slightly) at having to spend time, energy and money on their sick parents. And if that's true it's a good thing then. I still think Soojong isn't wrong for saying what she said. She isn't actively trying to kill her father. She's just tired and frustrated.

I agree that not everyone has idealistic parents and would not have the same view as the people I have mentioned but I do understand how "tiring it truly is" because I was by my mother's side the entire time she was with my sick grandmother, that was dying from colon cancer, and stayed with her in the hospital days on end having to sleep on a thin, pull-out mattress. I do see how one can maybe grow resentful towards their parents for holding them back from thriving and putting certain restriction on them but I do not agree with your previous statement that "any normal person" would feel the same way as her because then you are generalizing a whole population of people to a single selfish reaction to taking care of a dying family member.

And no, I do not "live in a bubble" where I think that all families are loving and wholesome; both of my parents grew up in impoverishment with torn apparent families and fathers who either completely abandoned them or mistreated them. But as they have aged and matured, as adults, they have learned to let that resentment go and have grown to forgive them because that deep hidden spite would, in the long run, only end up hurting them the most.

You forgot that I said no matter how fleetingly after the words any normal person would feel that way. It's not only about the person doing the caretaking. It's also about the sick people. They're tired too with medications and tubes and feeling sick. Some sick people want to just die instead of being sick for a long time. So who the deuce gives the right to their family to force them into hospital beds? But that's a whole other thing. Anyway let's agree to disagree. Our kinds of normal might not be the same.

I just want to clarify that I did not refer to what Soojung says about her father.
I was refering about the way she acted in the past (Taesoo's flashbacks on the situation that lead him to lose his job), and the fact that - at least to me - her approach to the chief was based in a fake personality (she's been deceiving him) and her interest in him was purely based in economic interest (at least since the begining it seemead that way, in one chapter she seems to feels jealous of the way the chief acts with Sooha so maybe she has feelings or is starting to have feelings for him).

It doesn't matter how much I try not to dislike him, he's just annoying. I understand that he's having a hard time trying to understand his own feelings and the fact that maybe he loves someone of his same gender but I hate the fact that the only thing he worries about is himself. Meanwhile Jinha spends all of his time thinking about Siwon, Siwon only thinks of himself, he doesn't really try to connect with Jinha or think how to make things easier for him, or trying to see why he is acting in a certain way, if someone you care about starts acting in a weird way you try to see what's happening, you don't spend all your time ignoring him and making him worry.
