I understand very well Hess right now. If I went to my bias' world and ended up in a situation similar to hers, I too would feel like my world was crumbling. I also get her feelings of shouldn't get involved with her bby, as I would rather watch from afar too.
On the other side, I also understand Cael not wanting to destroy a former friend and crush because of who he is. If he knew about Hess' situation he would deal with it differently but it's something almost impossible to tell him, that's she's not from here and that he killed himself when she wasn't looking for an instant.
I also think that Cael was almost the one giving her a will to live in her past life, that's why he matters so much so seeing him oppose her purpose in her 3rd life must be a nightmare
