no offence but this story isn't historically accurate the characters all hold pretty modern belief on love so the author could have extended this to the notion of consent but alas. Also during the said era (gives off Romantic era vibes) the concept of premarital sex was REALLY frowned upon and people really wanted to have that one true love. Linking the concept of love to sex. So by sleeping with her kinda doesn't make sense historically.

Basically still rape. Also considering she actually doesn't want to be involved with him and is using his power to get what he wants..
