really thought this would have the same vibes as “The Promise” cuz the first chapter was kinda similar with how the mc and ml were kinda evenly matched but now its just a stereotypical confinement plot and they’ll prob use threatening the town as the excuse for why the mc never fights back :(

i cant take this story seriously anymore but its kinda hilarious. the only panel thats made sense in the past dozen chapters is when liam calls sodam a dope for putting up with all this shit

I got hooked on this story because the premise seemed wholesome and silly and the translations were immersive. i think at the beginning, the author had a plan for this story to go in a completely different direction. mcs parents state that they own a cafe- no mention of the noodle company thats randomly brought up. moreover, there is still no explanation of why the mc is a comic artist, honestly we havent even seen him refer to his artist job in like a dozen chapters. i think the rich kid plot was brought up to explain his impulsive spending habits, but it just makes the timeline of the story more confusing. also, at first, the mc was self deprecating in a relatable and funny way, but now hes just wallowing in his own misery. the story has flipped to an intense focus on the mcs sexual past and as a result, the mc has lost any aspects of his personality that cant be sexualized. on top of that, it seems like the author doesnt know how to make the real male lead (blonde hair) more desirable than the second ml (green hair). there are vague references to how the second ml might be hiding something, but its hard not to sympathize with the guy despite it all. compared to the history and dedication between the mc and the second ml, the chemistry between the mc and the ml just doesnt add up. also!! mc has trauma associated with his earrings, but we see him with the earrings before he breaks up with the blue haired ex and no explanation of the specific trauma!! oh, and don’t get me started on the translations. they used to be AMAZING and now theyre down to the quality of something id find on a fan translation. hell, ive read better fan translations. its not even that the translation is boring and lacks personality (which it does) but there are BLATANT and OBVIOUS grammar errors and misspelling. overall, this story is just not fun anymore. its not wholesome, its depressing. its not mysterious, its a mess. and the art had gotten a little worse too. ironic considering how the story made fun of comics where the art gets worse deeper into the story. all the other comments about the mc being trash are right as well. hes badly written and kind of irredeemable considering how many second chances hes gotten. thanks for reading my rant if you got this far! :3
