Ok basically the time did a rewind because of our dear Claude over here. lets do context first. In the past life (previous timeline) during the demon resurrection war, the nobles were scared to go in the front lines and always said that they don't have to because they already have the duke and they shouldn’t risk their lives because it was given the duke would save them. Ivona heard this and became angry at them, knowing that our ML was also very much human. Ofc, Claude overheard and became curious about her.
(I believe this part was shown in the manwha already) Claude saw Ivona asking the priest for treatment but she was ignored, knowing full well they couldn’t do a thing for her and could only relieve some pain. Ivona couldnt sleep but Claude demanded her to be treated and gave him a chance to know her name, they then talked and this is when he knew about FL’s condition.
After the war ended, Claude who was the hero that prevented the demon resurrection, he could ask for anything (even the crown) but he only asked for one thing, and it was to treat Ivona. So he asked the temple if there was any other way to treat Ivona anything he could do, but the high priest said nothing could save her. When Ivona died, Claude was super devastated and considered it the worst day of his life. It was already at the time where he knew about Ivona and her past (about gaspal, her shitty father, her being sexualized etc.) Then the priest asked him if Claude loved her, he didn’t know because he didn’t know how to love, but the priest felt otherwise. The priest then suggested Claude to eat the devil’s heart in order to give Ivona another chance in life, Claude ofc agreed.
Which we are then rewinded to the present. When time was rewinded, the devil’s heart also remained with Claude (the reason why the holy swords rejects him) and he would become the demon and Ivona would be tasked to kill him. Ofc Ivona refused to kill him, and instead wanted to save him despite it being risky. She then went inside Claude’s consciousness in order to save him. Then while inside his cons, she saw Claude in the previous timeline, inside her mansion, he came to her after she died, he was sitting in depsair as he sees a dead ivona. What made Claude inflame his hatred for humans was because of Ivona, he wasn’t hurt but he felt great anger and pain because of her pain, and thats why he wanted to rewind time.
