so I just saw that this one got a manhwa adaptation, I'm reading the novel (in spanish) so I thought I'd share with those who are interested what is going to happen in this story. My english ain't great so bear with me, also some names from the spanish translation may be different in english so yeah. It's going to be a looong rollercoaster so prepare yourself:

- ancia, blake and richard (the villain) are the reincarnations of three people who lived before the empire was built; ancia and blake were already in love at that time, they are like soulmates;
-at that time Laontelle (this is the name of ancia's past self in the spanish translation from the novel, idk how it's going to be in english tho) was a part of the same family she is now, the Bellacians, and her family took care of Philip (richard's past self) because he didn't have anyone else, they grew up together;
-Laontelle loved Rakshul (blake's past self) who was a prince, a really competent and loved one who was set to become the future emperor. They were planning to marry;
-Philip was obsessed with Laontelle, so he couldn't stand the idea of her marrying another man, he also had an inferiority complex towards Rakshul;
-Laontelle meet a goddess, the goddess of light and they became almost like sisters. The goddess gave Laontelle a gift, the power of light, which was used to cure people and things like that;
-Philip approached the goddess and slowly earned her trust, she was really innocent or dumb if you prefer to call it that way lol. He pretended to be in love with her, and ao she fell for him and thought he was the love of her life;
-the goddess then starts to get jealous of Laontelle because she notices that Philip likes her, and acts like a dick with Laontelle but then apologizes;
-Philip takes the goddess to a trip, they go to another country and don't tell anything to Laontelle;
-At that time a disease spreads in the empire, starting with the royal family, one by one all of the royals die, the queens, princes and princesses and emperor. Rakshul also gets sick with this disease leaving Laontelle desperate;
-Laontelle's power wasn't enough to save Rakshul so she tries to call the goddess for help (because of the power of light the goddess and Laontelle have some kind of telepathy were they can communicate with each other but the goddess doesn't answer Laontelle);
-Rakshul dies, he was the last royal alive;
-Then Phillip appears again, claiming that he has a way to save the people of the empire from this disease, that at this point was killing a lot of people. He said that he had the power of the goddess of the light, and that he was the only one who could save the people, all they had to do was to claim him as their emperor;
-The goddess gave almost her entire power to Philip, becoming really weak. She was the one that created the disease, using her powers in a wicked way. She also knew that he planned to kill Rakshul with this disease but did nothing to prevent that, even though she was aware of how much Laontelle loved him;
-In fact the goddess knew Laontelle was the one that Philip "loved" but she still decided to stay with him and betray her friend, because she couldn't live without him anymore;
-Philip then becomes emperor and is viewed by the people as a hero, since he cures the disease as promised. He's known as the emperor blessed by the goddess of light;
-Philip threatened to kill Laontelle's entire family if she doesn't stay with him at his castle; he wants her to become his empress; She refuses, and is kept locked up in a tower;
-Meanwhile the goddess appears to Laontelle, she's really sick because the heavens kind of cursed her for using her powers in a wicked way and now she was suffering and Philip basically abandoned her since she wasn't useful anymore, he already got what he wanted;
-The goddess tells everything to Laontelle, and asks for forgiveness, Laontelle forgives her and says that they should do something abt Philip. But the goddess still loved him and didn't want to go against him. She then gives Laontelle a magic necklace and what was left of her light power, saying that it would pass on throughout the generations of her family (Bellacians);
-That is the last time Laontelle sees the goddess she thinks that she was gone back to the heavens or something but in fact Philip used his powers and created some kind of underground cell and imprisoned the goddess there, where she would eternally burn in a magical fire, she wouldn't die just stay in pain forever;
-Laontelle then hears the goddess screams of help through the necklace, and says that she is going to find her and save her from the cell;
-However Laontelle gets sick and dies before she can save the goddess. The goddess, already going crazy because of the pain, gets mad at Laontelle for leaving her behind (like bitch you were the one who did all this shit for that man);
-Philip gets married to a lot of queens and have a lot of children, but then one of his kids got weird black things writen on their skin, and they felt a lot of pain, like they were being burned alive. That was the goddess curse, she was using his kids bodies to write sentences like "help me, I'm burning", "Philip betrayed me";
-The kid with the curse died after some time, then another one of his kids would get it, and so on;
-Philip was scared that people would find out that he was cursed by the goddess, since he only became emperor because he had her blessings. He then started to kill his kids with his own hands as soon as they got the writings, so no one would read what the goddess was trying to say, but some people were already suspicious;
-He decided to destroy completely the empire, by releasing that disease again, and build another, where no one would know the truth abt him;
-He then created a fake ass story where he put Rakshul as the villain, and he as a hero that got cursed by the goddess not because he imprisoned her but because he took another woman (Laontelle) as his empress and she got jealous, and built this new empire (that is where the story is taking place);
-As time passed the curse got weaker, since the goddess was also getting weaker, and it would appear more sporadically, not all heirs would get it;
-Then 1000 years later Rakshul reincarnated as Blake, a descendent of the emperor Philip; Laontelle reincarnated as Ancia, in the same family she was a part of in the past; And Philip reincarnated as Richard, the bastard son between the emperor's brother, a duke, and a slave;
-In fact the FL didn't took someone else's body, she has the soul of Laontelle/Ancia, but spent a life in another reality (?), as a Korean (it's complicated but yeah);
- a lot of shit happens but this is already too long so I'll resume lmao;
-Ancia is able to lift the curse while Blake is still a child, everything is fine and cool but then the curse comes back and she finds out that the goddess is still alive and burning somewhere;
-Then goddess is able to talk to her and Ancia decides to go where she is to free her, so she would lift blake's curse completely;
-Ancia goes to this cell and gets trapped in there for 7 years, suffering while trying to reach the goddess;
-Blake's curse is lifted because the goddess got what she wanted: Laontelle/Ancia was going to her; but he's not happy at all since Ancia disappeared;
-Blake is going to turn 18 and the empire sees Ancia as a saint who sacrificed herself to lift the prince's curse, everyone thinks she's dead. The only ones who are still searching for her are Blake and her sister Diana;
-After these 7 years lost in the cell Ancia finds the goddess and uses her power of light to set her free;
-But the goddess is cray cray and tells ancia to leave blake behind and go with her to another place, at this point the goddess got his powers back;
-Ancia says she can't do it, now she remembers the past life and knows Blake is her soulmate, she wants to go back to him. The goddess gets really pissed and switches bodies with Ancia, saying that blake wouldn't recognize her and that he wouldn't want her if she has an ugly body, with burns all over. She also takes always ancia's ability to speak and write so she can't tell blake the truth. Then she goes out with ancia's appearance;
-Blake finds Ancia (in the goddess's body) and thinks that for some reason that girl reminded him of ancia, everyone else thinks he is crazy lol. He takes her back with him to the castle;
-long story short, he realises that girl is Ancia because some little habits that she has are the same ones that Ancia had;
-the goddess gets mad because blake didn't act like she thought he would, she thought all the men were like Philip who betrayed her, so she wants ancia to kill him;
-The goddess tells ancia that if she killed blake, she would get her body back, ancia refused of course;
-The goddess's physical body is really weak so ancia is dying;
-The goddess tells blake that if he wants to save ancia he should give his life in return by drinking a poison, she thought he would refuse, but he accepts;
-Ancia gets her body back and sees Blake unconscious, she then pleads the goddess to take her life instead of his. The goddess, seeing how they are constantly willing to sacrifice themselves for each other, realises that their love is real, unlike what she had with Philip. She then give up on taking blake's life, and says that the royal family, Philip's descents, won't suffer with the curse anymore and vanishes.
-There are a lot of cute moments between Ancia, Blake and the emperor after she comes back. Now they're adults, so they do the deed hehe ancia says blake was like a rabbit when he was a child but now he's more of a beast in bed LMAO;
-Richard is still doing bad things but he'll be caught soon.


And that's it, there are still a loooot of angst and shit happening but my fingers are tired LMAO the novel wasn't entirely translated there's still more story, but I guess this is enough for y'all to get a glimpse of where this manhwa is going to go.
In my opinion they drag things a lot, too much drama, it took forever for Ancia to come back, but nevertheless I like this one because the couple is cute.
