I like how consistent Fargo is with Hyesung's character development.
Naturally he's going to make mistakes as a growing parent, especially one who's still in his early twenties and is very new to child rearing.
Hyesung is realistically portrayed. There's no way he would jump from being the unemployed, stubborn, and insecure character that he was to the perfect parent who knows to never yell at a child.
Mind you, we're talking about the guy who grew up with an abusive father, ran away on multiple occasions, denied for the longest time that he is an omega, and always put his own safety first as a defense mechanism.
But this is also the same guy who came to terms with his romantic feelings for Dojin, faced Dojin's family in hopes that they'd accept Byul even if it meant they hate him (hyesung), is slowly learning to communicate effectively, is eager to go back to school and study again, and most importantly prioritizes Byul over something as important as social life for a regular university student.
This may all seem like common sense and basic things any normal human being should do, but I think this is already a huge leap for a character like Hyesung. He has always attempted to run away from his problems but he's slowly facing them on.
I'm sure all this "drama" and build up is another road leading up to more character development and growth as a parent. Hyesung may be extremely slow with his character development, but a quick reminder:
Just like all babies learn and develop at different rates, fully grown adults do too.
