I love both of them equally, I started reading the story because I have never read a story in which there were twins featured in. That is what interested me in the story. It just bothers me that arjen is a main character along with arien, so why is he being sidelined after they suffered so much together? I just think that the story should continue to be about the both of them, I would act the same if arien was to become a supporting character when she and her brother are supposed to be main characters.
idk although we do get ariens thoughts more, argen is the one with the stronger connections with his noble blood and guardian, aspects that have been emphasized again and again as a necessity for being a "true" noble. he's more vocal in his questioning of his place and the people there, and usually is the one leading arien around, despite the choice pov saying otherwise.. arien kinds of falls short of having any presence.
I dont think they will make her heibei background as important given this is a story is about cute children getting adopted and living in a big royal castle most of the time. the nobilty aspect with be more prevalent

I just find myself more disappointed that the female twin is weakly written compared to the male. by the end of season 1 he's determined and now knows his place, arien just stares on seemingly alienated from the rest.

Ok... I kinda felt bad for the guy honestly. Poor guy have fallen inlove with a guy who's head over heels for someone and were almost punched by the guy he likes right after he confessed and got rejected. If I were him, I would've moved on knowing that the person I like already have a lover, yet he even declared a war with a high confidence at that.
