What do you mean? MC has absolutely no reason to suspect that this random, handsome guy he met at a café is a hacker, let alone the hacker he admired and ran away from a year ago. Ghosting is a pretty common thing, nothing weird about ml joking about it - also mc didn't just ghost VX, he technically ghosted a lot of people who "knew him"
