it was a semi-fun binge read but I highkey dislike the relationship?? which is odd bc I'm not opposed to storylines like this, but I don't think the characters have enough depth to pull off the darker elements this requires

I think the MC is good enough, I'd like to see more of the ML's reasoning because at the moment he is putting way too much effort for just a lay and that makes no sense to me.

Dan's low mood has been ongoing since literally ch 1, the recent lack of sleep + binge drinking + realisation that he'll have nothing left after his gran passes away is the perfect storm for a full mental breakdown.
Also, the way the author depicted the black frames intercutting his thoughts is so reminiscent of the tunnel vision when you're in a mental crisis, and the only thing you can think is that you need to escape everything, somehow, no matter what that means.
he might actually kill him - that aside, he's going to have a bad pr storyline for sure after this little debacle. I'm hoping his management forces him to go to therapy or something, A(S)PD isn't curable but my man has zero coping skills!
