I think it'd be so easy to go down the v lazy avenue of "ew I'd never be gay" or "oh no gotta prevent my brother being hit on", but I like how that's not even the focus, it's the mc learning the rules of his universe and figuring out how to avoid becoming sucked into a plot line he doesn't care for lol

for a story w very archetypal characters, the plot is v unpredictable
