Everyone hating

I don't think it's just because of that,...sure this chapter is cute cuz for once I finally saw a hint of 'lovingness' but the story...idk where it's going...the storyline is like ehhh...typically when they propose to live together it's cute and all,...this looks like when did they talk about living together in the first place, kindda random and just slapped on....the plot and the dry facial expressions, it's like seeing an actor playing the character badly........I just think that author is new to this type of cutesy romance but wanted it to be cutest.....or this is the authors first work...... don't get me wrong I'm invested and their banters are funny ( ̄ε(# ̄)Σ

to have a chemistry/love someone means but not limited to - missing them, constantly in contact with them, getting nervous around them, the desire to do intimate things with them, getting jealous, just being happy by their side, willing to compromise, wanting to know everything about them, etc. the mc showed those signs but the ml did not. their sex felt dry and forced (literally as well cause the ml literally forced the mc to have sex with him after the mc said he doesn't want to)
I hate purity complex as well when it comes to romance stores but you can't sit here and tell me after reading every chapter there was chemistry between the two. even the mc said it himself as well as the people around him. he doesn't feel any love coming from the ml. I guess this goes to show how people view romance. even if you guys aren't lovey dovey you still make the effort to get to know one another and that includes respect and the ml has shown time and time again he doesn't respect the mc as the mc would like him to

I hear you. (this will be very long and very upsetting bc it's very long)
Let me preface this by saying that Seok Yeon is an unreliable narrator, this is the pivot of the story's first act— Seok Yeon threatens to quit his job because Yeo Won (his boss) had allegedly outed him in college, and when he had confronted him about it, Yeo Won asked why blame him when Seok Yeon didn't even have proof. Then he proceeded to drop this infamous line, "Think of it as a free life experience". Now, this is where I started to suspect that the author is about to make Yeo Won the bane of Seok Yeon’s existence.
Yeo Won was quite the villain in Seok Yeon’s college memories. Ever since the infamous line, Seok Yeon’s college and professional life has gone predictively downhill(Refer to ch 5). Notice that apart from the confrontation, Yeo Won had little to zero contribution to his downward spiral. Still, Yeo Won’s thoughts kept circling back to him as if Yeo Won was to blame for all the miserable things that had been happening to him so far.. as if the author wanted the readers to think that Yeo Won's insensitive line was the catalyst to Seok Yeon's unfortunate events.
“Think of it as a free life experience.”
The author set them up quite clearly, if not lazily.
Now we get to the second half of the first act, where strangely enough, Yeo Won is not quite living up to his villainy. Yes, he’s still rude, a pain-in-the-ass of a boss, and shockingly insensitive to social cues, but at this point, you’ve noticed that he lacked the malice you’d need to spread rumours about someone’s sexual orientation without their consent.
So, Yeo Won was still a dick; Seok Yeon was still convinced that Yeo Won was the homophobic bane of his existence.
Now ch 15-16: Seok Yeon, Yeo Won, and a sunbae got dinner together.
Up to this point, Seok Yeon and Yeo Won’s prickly interactions had always taken place without an audience but at this dinner, they had one: Jae Woo sunbae.
He’s the long-time best friend of Yeo Won and Seok Yeon’s sunbae + a friend he trusted enough to get a job referral from after the shitshow at his last job. He then explicitly stated that Yeo Won was not bullying him after Seok Yeon tattled to him. That Yeo Won was in fact doting on him, he also added, “That’s because you’ve never actually seen Yeo Won speak maliciously. That was nowhere near malicious. That would be considered nice.”
Me personally, I saw this as the author correcting our unreliable narrator, and the reader’s perception of Yeo Won.
IMO this pretty much confirmed that Yeo Won was not the gayhating rumor-spreader that we were led to believe and he was not as bad as his douchey posturing. (spoiler: it was later revealed that it was Seok Yeon's ex who outed him lol)
ANW this has gotten way too fckin long. I had already posted my opinion on how the manhwa did a great job showing what a relationship would look like if the couple had polarizing love languages days ago. (very wordy too . it’s one of the topics before this, you can go read and comment if you’d like, or don’t, and that’s ok too, just don't look for a fight bc i will just give you good memes)
But you got a good point about chemistry. To add, I don’t think chemistry, in the context of a relationship, pertains to the manifestation of mutual affection because even affection/love can still exist without chemistry (attraction on the other hand..just realized this would make a good thesis), but it is something more invisible and abstract that defines the dynamic of their mutual attraction. It’s like their wavelength. Those two have it, it’s rough and volatile more often than not, but it’s there. I can’t even explain it myself but if i have to: it's like eating a tongue-scaldingly hot potato seasoned with nothing but sea salt.
I guess it’s a subjective and complex phenomenon that has no formula yet known to man . that’s why dating is so friggin hard . the only formula dating knows is the algorithm dating apps use and in there, the chemistry comes down to his top spotify artists and your 1.7K followers on IG.
im not touching the sex part bc that doesn’t interest me but i wish the author would touch on Seok Yeon's suicide attempt just as they have slowly shown us glimpses of Yeo Won's past. Good thread everyone good bye
So they not gonna confirm their relationship like they just randomly kiss
