It's good really, but it's a revenge historical plot so just be aware it has r#pe scenes in the recent chapters

as someone with a degree in literature, it's garbage. the art is the only redeeming part of it. all it is is gratuitous rape fantasies. i would've preferred it if it presented the assault as assault and used the story as a critique on rape culture/classism, as well as turning it into a revenge story rather than a sorry excuse for a romance.

I also believe the author rode on the current trend of historical korean BLs, specially after Painter of the Night took off.

There is actually a super weak plot, to keep readers hooked basically - will they end up together? Will they both die? What will happen?

Unlike Painter of the Night, where some actual character development did indeed took place.

However, in this case, apart from super fancy archaic words, the plot hasn't moved further at all in 80 chapters.

You can say, we're still learning about the characters at this point - how the ML had no choice but to kill to become who he is, how Yeonjo suffered and how he is sweet and kind, can't bear to hurt even a mosquito basically.

So, in season 2, author introduces new people - to further the plot, because their story writing is indeed super weak. A good author would've been able to spin off something wonderful with the existing world building that they've done.
