Excuse me what? “Don’t have sexual attraction”? Autism is a spectrum. Not all autistic people are the same. I know plenty of very horny autistic people. I even dating one. I’d say I have a high drive but his was higher than mine. Maybe some autistic people don’t have a sex drive and maybe some can’t understand love but not ALL of them and certainly not most. Being autistic doesn’t make you asexual.

sure but you can't just generalize the spectrum as one. a persons sexuality and mindset are completely different

Don’t assume anything that generalises a whole group of people. That’s just poor judgement on your part and shows lack of consideration for the people you are generalising. Maybe 80 years ago, autism was assumed to be only for people who were (and mind my use of the slur but this is what people thought back then) “mentally retarded”. We’ve since done a lot of research and found that autism isn’t a black and white issue and that there is a spectrum. In fact, “autism” isn’t even the politically correct term anymore because it doesn’t include the word “spectrum” in it. People with ASD have spoken out and wanted it to include spectrum because that’s what it is so it got changed. Some people are low on the spectrum where it doesn’t affect them enough for it to be visible or for it to affect day to day life much. Some people are high on the spectrum and find all forms of communication to be taxing and overstimulating and therefore are non verbal or reclusive. And this is just SOME. Im not talking about all ASD people and im sure that every single asd person has a different story about how asd affects their life as a whole. SOME people are aroace. You cannot make a generalisation about an entire group of people with one medical condition to say that everyone in that group has to fall into this ONE category for sexuality. That would be like saying that all bipolar people are bisexual cause both of the words have “bi” in it. It’s horrendously rude to both bipolar people and bisexual people to make such an assumption. I hope you learn better and don’t make such cut and dry assumptions when the world we live is isn’t black and white and no one fits into any categories or stereotypes fully. I’m sure you have a few stereotypes you don’t fall into and a few catergories that people might assume that you are that you just simply aren’t. Please don’t do that to others. And if you do have ASD, please don’t drag people who have the same condition as you into the same box as you. Please don’t spread misinformation because not enough people understand ASD to begin with and spreading misinformation will just bring everyone else down and take longer for the correct information to be circulated. It could also lead to a cry wolf situation where so much misinformation is spread that no one believes any information whatsoever to the point the truth is covered up. You wouldn’t be solely responsible for that but contributing to misinformation would make you part of the mess. Please do better.
