If this Crown Prince is already hard to handle, imagine the other sexist one...

Oh boi.

But I have to admit that I like that the FL doesn't go for the Empress' seat, which happens once every full moon in these types of isekai webtoons/novels, and that the princes have actual personalities instead of just being horny for the FL lol.

Well, honestly I'm not gonna be surprised if and when Motia just declares independency and the FL turns into a Queen/Empress that way (Might aswell use the Princes' visits to be like "Yall disrespecting me, so eat shit"). This is pure speculation of course but let's not pretend like there aren't some serious hints towards that becoming a thing.

That would be a cool possibility, tho! Then kian would also be an emperor since he’s Priscilla’s husband, and then he can get the land that he wanted to govern

Ooooh. That would be so badass and cool. Exacly how I imagine Priscilla.(づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ

If going that direction, I would prefer if Kian becomes Empress consort or something rather than be the emperor. He can still get land to govern, but the power dynamic in the eyes of people would still be Priscilla as the ruler.

Eh I kinda doubt that Kian would be just a side piece. Scilla and him are a power couple and it seems like Kian was aiming to become King/Emperor on his own land to begin with. But who knows?

Is it just me or is the FL a huge Mary Sue? I like how the story goes and generally speaking Marie isn't a pain in the ass, but it still bothers me. Her abilities make her a portable Deus Ex Machina. She's always portrayed as selfless, smart and doesn't seem to have any goals in life besides getting away from the crown prince (which I have trouble understanding why tbh, like there seem to be no clues or evidence left that could expose her as the lost princess. She used to be a war prisoner anyway, so she doesn't even have to hide her origins). I get that her selflessness and innocence are the point of her character, but some kind of flaw or even backlash from her skill giving visions would make her at least a bit more human.
Also, I dispise that Marie is playing dumb when it comes to the crown prince with and without his mask. She seemed to recognise literally everyone just fine at the masquarade ball, but when it comes to the crown prince she doesn't have a clue? You can't tell me it's harder to tell because he's hiding his forehead. Please.

Honestly I feel like she’s a Mary Sue too. And I also dislike that situations just seem to happen so she can have a chance to prove herself? She isn’t really trying to do anything, stuff just happens and she now has to fix them because of her personality.

You know, Isekai shojou stories all go along a simular pathway, but for some reason this one drags along the road like a disabled turtle for me. I usually have a lot of patience for slow burn stories but man it was hard getting through the first few chapters.. and after that I just dropped it. I just don't see anything new or original here. Whatever plot twist/climax will come is also already hinted at from the start and doesn't leave much to the imagination to me.

Ah I'm pretty torn about this webtoon. It's very slow paced. It's taking it's sweet sweet time with character development. It's so frustrating and god this webtoon is good at building up stress and angst lol. But I kinda like how it's going so far. Imo the FL was way too uncertain and kinda loose (?) in the start, despite the well being of her people being on the line, it feels like she is just going where ever the wind blows her. Even after the 2 year time skip she barely changed. But I hope that she will continue to build up more spice as the story progresses. The balcony scene was hilarious and I'll take that as an indicator that the author won't just let her stay an aimless damsel in distress. I also like that the Duke isn't an instant simp for her like with most other shoujo stories. It's way more realistic for his character.

Let's put aside that the ML may or may not be her uncle but- my dude the age gap... Even if they wait till the FL turns 18 with the heavy romance stuff, it'd still be creepy af. There is no "healing romance" if an immortal OP mage is falling in love with the emotionally unstable and traumatized underaged child, who is supposed to be said child's guardian. Someone please call Chris Hansen. There is no way that a child with heavy emotional scars that suffered 14 years of abuse is in the right mind to get into a relationship with her guardian who is supposed to be a father figure more than anything else. Even if she overcomes her fears and nightmares, it's messed up for a grown up man to be in a romantic relationship with a fragile girl who is emotionally dependent on him. It ain't healthy and it ain't legal. If you think otherwise please report yourself to the FBI. I *really hope* the description is misleading and that their relationship just stays in the wholesome fatherly love category. Please.

I think that immortality in a sense is a wild card, because the persons doesn’t age the a perpetually staying the same age for the rest of eternity essentially. The one we can ascribe a metric to is the FL, who is a minor and only 14. The age gap is not pleasant but as long as he doesn’t actively display feelings to a 14 year old and those feeling develop after she’s an adult. This could be him taking the place as a father figure if sorts too since it is mentioned in the dialouge. I’m interested in how it will unfold but it could easily be very unpleasant.

I should also mention that this needs to be handled VERY delicately in order for it not to come off as grooming to the reader and so far it isn’t treading that line yet but it is has the potential to and that is a bit unnerving.

Totally agree on that. If the author doesn't handle the relationship development right, and doesn't clearly show that the FL is independent and healthy, it's all gonna go down the grooming route real fast.
But tbh, I don't know how to feel about these type of love stories. Yes, immortals are out of the norm and have totally different values and way of thinking (probably) but they're still full grown adults falling in love with a.. child... Idk man.
I just really hope that the author treads down the rabbit hole carefully.

It's gonna take a good while until this catches up to the novel and oh boi I'm ready for the spicy revenge drama

somnia December 5, 2020 3:46 am

oof idk how to feel about the whole Saint plottwist tbh. I mean, it was hinted at for a good while that the FL has these powers. But I think this whole lore about magic originally being wielded by women thing a bit wonky and awkward. The og saint shared magic with men and then a sexist antichrist removed magic from the women. That already is a bit ridiculous imo, but how does that explain why no more women with magic were born? You can't tell me this dude has been beaming himself all over the world to steal every woman's magic abilities for this long, keep in mind women make up the majority of the population. This scene where the FL basically upgrades the mechas to holy transformers also made me chuckle. I get that the saint's powers are extra special or whatever but that was the last thing I expected to happen lol.
On another note I'm also hoping that all the guys- atleast the FL's family- start to reflect on yeeting women around for fun and regret that shit. Would be a personal turn off to see that just getting glossed over and for the dudes to just go "huh so I guess women aren't useless anymore because magic".

somnia December 5, 2020 2:59 am

god I love this webtoon despite almost following down the path as most shoujo isekai mangas. The character development makes total sense, even most bad guys have a reason to be the way they are while other characters are almost completely grey. Like the Emperor for example. And I also like how the romance was being held off for the sake of laying the fundation of the glorious climax of the webtoon- that I bet my left eyeball Arth, like the top tier best husband that he is, is laying the roadwork for. It's time for service and hot damn I'm ready for a good meal.

somnia December 4, 2020 12:15 am

Tbh this webtoon isn't the end of the world, but it feels like character development is rushed and all over the place. Especially with the relationship between the ML and FL. These 50 or so chapters are barely a week or two of them spending time together and Hilde seemingly forgot that the guy acted like a cruel bastard and killed his entire family. She just pats the guy on the back and goes "no kill, bad Caleb" when he prepares to obliterate someone with his op magic. Especially when he yeets her beloved brother against a wall. Yes, she uses her holy powers on the guy and what not, but it leaves no resentment or distaste afterwards. I get that they're supposed to be "destined" for each other but how is that normal? Atleast have the ML realize being a psycho isn't hot and have him change before having the FL be all blushy and understanding of him.

somnia November 30, 2020 1:03 am

I'm honestly glad the manga ended the way it did. Most of these Isekai manga and webtoons tend to stretch out the drama until you want to die of frustration. Although the thing with Susan just standing at the sidelines at the end with no context and no sign of regret, or whatever else, is a bit dissapointing. That little "hint" we were given wasn't really satisfying after all the build up about her whereabouts. Either show and tell or don't.
And the whole thing with the fancy proposal was also kinda??? At first I thought it was supposed to be a message for the readers to not take our lovers words as empty promises and to demand to be loved the way we deserve.. but in the end it turns out that it's just to stop rumors. At least that's what I felt.
